Forest School

The Forest School Program is a curiosity-based and emotionally supportive learning program for children. Students will spend most of their time immersed in nature, learning naturalist, survival and wilderness skills alongside and informed by the BC curriculum and Core Competencies.

Program highlights:

  • Four full days of programming full of forest adventures, naturalist/survival skills, music, art, and play, including math, reading, writing, social studies, and science.

  • Field trips to learn from different ecosystems and experts in our community.

  • Survival skills include navigation, fire building, cooking, carving, shelter building, wildlife tracking, and edible and medicinal plants.

  • A focus on hands-on learning such as weaving, sewing, building, and more.

  • Learning through play, storytelling, singing, drama, and art.

Details for 2024/25 School Year:


Ages: 4-12 years

Primary: Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2, 3 and 4
Middle Years: Grades 5, 6 and 7

Date & Times: Monday - Thursday

Primary: 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
Intermediate: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Capacity: Maximum of 14 students. Teacher to student ratio is 7:1. Primary classes aim to have 12 per cohort and Middle Years will be 14.

Tuition:

Primary: $900 CAN monthly
Middle Years
: $950 CAN monthly

Siblings receive a 20% discount on tuition
